Who presents this woman in Holy Matrimony?. (optional).........................................

THE OPENING

As we prepare for the sacred space for the joining together of this man and woman in holy matrimony, I
quote from Sun Bear:
When humans participate in ceremony, they enter a sacred space……..
…………The bodies of participants become filled with the energy of life
And this energy reaches out and blesses the creation around them
All is made new; everything becomes sacred.

PERSONAL STATEMENT ABOUT COUPLE

SONG - OPTIONAL

UNDERSTANDINGS ABOUT SPIRITUAL NATURE OF YOUR MARRIAGE.

Our marriage is a mystical pursuit, a search for the Divine Light at the center of all things.  The key to our
successful marriage is recognizing the power of our mystical third; the indwelling presence of God........
Our pledge of embodying Divine Love is the grinding stone that homes our marriage to its spiritual
brilliance......And that love that puts your needs equal to mine takes us beyond the highest reaches of our
humanity to touch the divine in ourselves, each other and all of life.

EXPRESSION OF INTENT

bride and groom, do you both choose to marry the other and to love, honor and sustain this relationship
through times of darkness and light.  Do you promise that times of trouble will not deter you or tempt you
to forsake your love?

Both respond, I do

YOUR INTENTION FOR YOUR MARRIAGE

From questionnaire

VOWS

Traditional vows, vows we write together in consultation or You have chosen your own vows.

An example…..
I bride/groom ask you to be my partner, my friend, and my husband/wife.  I announce and declare my
intention to give you my deepest friendship and love, not only when your moments are high, but when
they are low, not only when you remember clearly who you are, but when you forget, not only when you
are acting in Love, but when you are not.
I will always seek to see the light of Divinity within you and to share the Light of divinity within me.
It is my intention to be with you forever in  a Holy partnership of the soul, together doing God’s work,
sharing all that is good within us, with all those whose lives we touch.

RING EXCHANGE
These rings are made of precious metals, a symbol of the riches that reside in each of you...
Wear these rings in joy as a sign of the unquenchable love which your hearts now embody and your
words express.
Repeat after me:
In the name of God,
I give you this ring
As a token of my love and devotion
I ask you to keep it close to your heart
As a sign, I have chosen you to
Share the rest of my live with.
May all see and know my love for you.

Minister puts hands over couple’s hands and says:
You now walk among those who wear rings symbolizing your intention to keep your word.  May you be
blessed with that intention now.

THE HANDS OF THE BRIDE AND GROOM – please hold hands

These are the hands of your best friend, strong and full of love for you,
That are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and
forever.
These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future………..
…………And lastly these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will always be reaching for
yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

UNITY CANDLE

……...   On your wedding day, you stand at your altar, together yet apart, and not in each other’s shadow.
Allowing the winds of heaven to dance in and between you, you each will become two strong pillars,
supporting the temple of your marriage.  Please bring the light of your love into the light of this union and
light the Unity candle. This symbolizes your oneness with God (spirit) and each other as you enter the
great spiritual undertaking of your marriage.  Even in marriage you will retain and enhance your
individuality while at the same time offering your energy to the creation of larger union, one that is greater
than its parts. And through your marriage, you become more than 2 individual pillars.

PRONOUNCEMENT OF MARRIAGE

Bride and Groom, join hands

I now take deep pleasure as an ordained minister in the State of Colorado, and more important because I
believe in the power of your Love, of pronouncing you husband and wife.
May God bind you together now.  What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.
May true love be a seal upon your hearts, a mantle about your shoulders and a crown upon your
foreheads.

Congratulations!!!

ROSE CEREMONY
bride and groom, I am pleased to present to you your first gift as husband and wife.   I give you both a red
rose, which in the language of flowers symbolizes love, and I ask that you take your rose and give it to the
other as your first gift as a married couple.   This of course, is the gift of Love.

BENEDICTION
Bride and groom, may you live out your days in joy, may you live in one another’s company in peace, and
may your days be filled with the rewards of all you have overcome to bring you to this place.  May you
